Role Description This is a part-time, hybrid Sales Business Development role based in San Diego, CA, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The Sales Business Development professional will identify and qualify business opportunities, generate leads, and support membership growth for the Chamber and its programs. Daily responsibilities include conducting outreach to prospective members and partners, managing a pipeline of leads, and following up to convert prospects into long-term relationships. The role involves performing market research on targeted sectors, documenting insights, and translating them into actionable business development strategies. The individual will also collaborate with the team to support events, promote Chamber services, and ensure a high standard of service for members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and experience using data or insights to identify opportunities and support business development decisions.
Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication in professional and cross-cultural contexts.
Demonstrated ability in lead generation, prospecting, and managing a pipeline of potential clients or members.
Experience in market research, including gathering and synthesizing information on industries, competitors, or target markets.
Proven customer service mindset with a focus on building long-term, trust-based relationships.
Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, prioritize tasks, and meet goals with minimal supervision.
Interest in or familiarity with international business, transatlantic trade, or French-American economic relations is a strong plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Comfort with CRM tools, productivity software, and virtual collaboration platforms.
French language skills are beneficial but not required.
