Summary
The Senior Freight Brokerage Carrier Sales Representative will be responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests. Develop a carrier coverage strategy and have full autonomy for supporting a customer's transportation coverage needs. Directly engage with cross functional teams as needed to build a network of service providers that allows them the ability to foster an effective carrier network to support any and all freight transportation needs that a customer desires. Essential Functions
Tenders accept/reject loads, creates loads, sets appointments, dispatches, tracks and traces loads. Root cause problem solves issues and resolves/communicates to carrier and/or customer as appropriate. Conflict resolution and assisting Carrier Sales Rep to find the best possible solution and outcome in every transaction. Identifies and develops relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio through soliciting capacity. Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure proper all customer's needs are met in the agreed upon time period. Additional Responsibilities
Continuous improvement in all segments of the business. Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations. Responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS. Maintain a positive employee related climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level while having availability 24/7/365 for responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities
Ability to represent the company with external constituents and represent Ryder Shipment Management Services in a professional manner to internal and external parties. Build strong customer relationships and demonstrate customer service capabilities. Direct customer interface on all customer related issues. Effective leadership skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, demonstrate problem solving skills. Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization. Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment. Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills. Competitive nature and drive to contribute to a winning culture. Demonstrate customer service and negotiation skills, detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (required). Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field (required). 3 years or more in Business related experience (preferred). Working knowledge of Transportation Industry, carrier modes & services and basic Supply Chain design and functionality (advanced). Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures (advanced). Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word. Clear understanding of SMS legacy system (intermediate). Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements (intermediate). Compensation
Salary: $75,000 annually. Position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Benefits
