The RoleWe are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this collaborative position, you will:
- Promote meaningful supervision of placements
- Work alongside foster parents as professional colleagues
- Engage in quality assurance and training for foster parents
This role requires a confident driver with a full driving license, as you will be traveling across the North West. You will also need to be an excellent report writer, capable of meeting strict deadlines.
Requirements- Hold a Social Work England qualification or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England
- Experience in fostering
- Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to high-quality practice, including occasional work after 5 PM and on weekends
- Participation in an Out of Hours rota for the Northwest region
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases
- Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload
- Conduct regular supervision sessions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in meetings and decision-making
