Located in the heart of Headingley, Leeds, Ormston School opened its doors in September 2024. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for students aged 5 to 18, ensuring they leave school equipped with the skills and experiences needed to contribute positively to society.

As a SEND Teacher, you will teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that align with the school's curriculum.
• Assessing and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
• Adapting your teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
• Setting high standards that inspire and motivate your pupils.
• Demonstrating secure subject knowledge and participating in preparations for external tests.
• Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for students with SEND.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
• Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
• Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
• A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs.
• Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
• Good ICT skills to support learning.
