Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a SEND Teacher, you will teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that align with the school's curriculum.
- Assessing and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
- Adapting your teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
- Setting high standards that inspire and motivate your pupils.
- Demonstrating secure subject knowledge and participating in preparations for external tests.
- Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for students with SEND.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
- Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
- Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
- A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
- Good ICT skills to support learning.
- A workplace that prioritizes the emotional health and wellbeing of all staff.
- Commitment to your professional development through a variety of training opportunities.
