• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws


• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations


• Pursue undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using covert positions with infrared scopes during night operations


• Interpret tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry
