Kieswetter Excavating is looking for an experienced estimator to join our team. We're a fourth-generation, family-owned heavy civil construction company in the Waterloo area. Our small but mighty team operates in a relaxed, collaborative environment where decisions get made quickly.
What we specialize in:
- Sewer and watermain installation.
- Earthworks and grading.
- Concrete work.
- Road construction and asphalt.
- Demolitions.
- Municipal infrastructure projects.
What you'll do:
- Prepare cost estimates and bid proposals for civil infrastructure projects.
- Review RFPs, tenders, and contract documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Work with Bid2Win estimating software.
- Collaborate with our project management and field teams.
- Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support pre-construction planning.
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or heavy civil work.
- Strong understanding of earthwork, underground utilities, and/or concrete construction.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and OPSS standards.
- Solid math skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of estimating experience.
- Experience with Bid2Win or similar estimating software.
- Knowledge of municipal bidding processes.
- Existing relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors.

Salary: $75,000 - $105,000+ (negotiable based on experience).
