Kieswetter Excavating is looking for an experienced estimator to join our team. We're a fourth-generation, family-owned heavy civil construction company in the Waterloo area. Our small but mighty team operates in a relaxed, collaborative environment where decisions get made quickly.
What we specialize in:
  • Sewer and watermain installation.
  • Earthworks and grading.
  • Concrete work.
  • Road construction and asphalt.
  • Demolitions.
  • Municipal infrastructure projects.

What you'll do:
  • Prepare cost estimates and bid proposals for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Review RFPs, tenders, and contract documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Work with Bid2Win estimating software.
  • Collaborate with our project management and field teams.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Support pre-construction planning.

Required qualifications:
  • 2+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or heavy civil work.
  • Strong understanding of earthwork, underground utilities, and/or concrete construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and OPSS standards.
  • Solid math skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5+ years of estimating experience.
  • Experience with Bid2Win or similar estimating software.
  • Knowledge of municipal bidding processes.
  • Existing relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors.

Salary: $75,000 - $105,000+ (negotiable based on experience).
