We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler in Richmond, Virginia. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our logistics and distribution center. You will be responsible for the safe and effective handling of materials, including loading and unloading shipments, moving inventory, and ensuring accurate placement within the warehouse. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are crucial for maintaining a productive and secure work environment. As a Material Handler, you will play a key part in our supply chain, contributing to timely order fulfillment and inventory accuracy. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and products.
- Move materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification may be required).
- Verify quantities and accuracy of received goods against purchase orders or invoices.
- Ensure materials are stored correctly and safely in designated areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
- Support general warehouse operations and logistics support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or material handling role is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and bending.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and the importance of using PPE.
- Basic understanding of logistics principles.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
