  • Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and basic life support during emergencies.
  • Document patient information thoroughly in medical records while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings like ICU, emergency medicine, post-acute care, or hospice to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Support infection control protocols and ensure adherence to safety standards in all patient interactions.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to EMR/EHR systems and updates in medical terminology or physiology knowledge.

Requirements

  • Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
  • Strong background in geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, or specialty areas such as ICU, PICU, or emergency medicine is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical documentation and HIPAA regulations essential.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting (Hoyer lift), moving patients safely, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with patients of all ages and collaborating effectively within healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, aseptic techniques, and infection control practices required.
  • Must demonstrate compassion for patients with disabilities or complex health needs such as Alzheimer's disease or infectious diseases.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in various settings including inpatient units or outpatient clinics; experience in urgent care or home & community care is a plus.
