The Role
As Shift Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of your shift, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and to plan. You will provide general oversight across the factory floor, making real-time decisions to keep operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full shift oversight within a liquid processing environment
- Managing production using process control and SCADA systems
- Making decisions on the timing and coordination of key activities
- Leading and managing a workforce of 32-50 colleagues per shift
- Labour planning and control to meet production and cost targets
- Driving staff performance through clear KPIs and expectations
- Conducting regular tiered meetings , reviewing performance, output, and issues
- Ensuring food safety, quality, and operational standards are maintained at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry (essential)
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams
- Confident decision-making in a fast-paced production environment
- Comfortable working with production data, KPIs, and performance reviews
- Experience with liquid processing or SCADA systems is highly desirable
