Role Overview
The Project Coordinator – Landscape Design Studio supports the development and delivery of landscape design projects from schematic design through construction administration. This role requires a strong foundation in landscape architectural principles, technical documentation, and design execution across multiple project types and scales.
The ideal candidate is both creative and technically proficient, capable of working independently while collaborating closely with architects, interior designers, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Landscape Design & Technical ExecutionSupport landscape projects from schematic design through construction documentation and administration.
Independently apply advanced landscape architectural concepts and design principles.
Take responsibility for specific technical aspects of assigned projects, including evaluation and recommendation of design solutions.
Develop detailed construction drawings, details, and specifications.
Assist with project coordination, schedules, and presentation materials.
Attend client meetings, prepare meeting notes, and support or lead meetings as experience allows.
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Concept development and site planning
Integration of interior and exterior spaces
Landscape materiality, aesthetics, and architectural integration
Site grading and drainage design and documentation
Planting design and plant material specifications
Pool, spa, and decorative water feature design
Decorative landscape lighting design
Irrigation system layout and detailing
Stormwater management in accordance with local codes and ordinances
Provide technical guidance to junior team members as needed.
Contribute to a collaborative studio environment focused on quality, creativity, and accountability.
Required Qualifications
Education
Accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
Experience
3–5 years of professional landscape architecture experience
Experience with residential landscapes, plant materials, and hardscape detailing preferred
Familiarity with projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth region strongly preferred
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for construction documentation
Working knowledge of Revit
2D and 3D rendering using Adobe Creative Suite
SketchUp experience preferred
Experience with grading and drainage design and documentation
Working knowledge of basic residential foundation systems
Strong technical detailing and drawing set development skills
Creative & Professional Skills
Strong sketching and visualization abilities
Ability to produce presentation-quality graphics, master plans, and material palettes
Highly organized with excellent time management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Client-focused mindset and professional demeanor
Licensure
Landscape Architecture licensure preferred but not required
Work Environment
Collaborative, in-office studio located in the historic Meadows Building at Energy Square
Standard hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM CST, Monday–Friday (flexibility as project demands require)
Occasional evening, weekend, local, or overnight travel may be required
