Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and assessment of chronic pain conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab results
- Perform medication management, including monitoring for efficacy and safety
- Assist with and/or perform in-office procedures (trigger point injections, joint injections, etc., depending on training and licensure)
- Educate patients on pain management strategies, medications, procedures, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to overall patient care planning
- Follow all regulatory guidelines, including controlled substance monitoring and compliance requirements
- Provide ongoing patient follow-up to assess progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant Program
- Active NP or PA license in FL
- National board certification (FNP, ANP, AGNP, or equivalent)
- Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or primary care preferred
- Strong understanding of chronic pain conditions and appropriate treatment modalities
- Familiarity with controlled substance prescribing protocols and state regulations
- Proficiency with EHR systems
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
