Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting innovative dish ideas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning of ingredients
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing dishes in line with event requirements
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards of food quality
- Follow all safety protocols related to knife skills, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably with fine dining exposure
- Strong culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety practices
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in knife techniques, meal preparation, and managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving is desirable but not mandatory
