What You'll Be Doing
The Administrative Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Equitable Housing & Community Development Division (EHCD) as it advances Wake County's housing affordability goals. Reporting to the Division Director, this position provides essential administrative, project coordination, and program support to help ensure smooth and efficient division operations.
This role is responsible for organizing documents and workflows, supporting contract routing, maintaining accurate and compliant records, and serving as a point of contact for internal and external partners. The Administrative Coordinator also assists with program monitoring, research, purchasing activities, and customer service needs.
This position is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Additional duties may be assigned to support division and County housing initiatives.

Our programs support housing stability, economic opportunity, and inclusive growth through initiatives such as Community Revitalization, Development Financing, Rental Assistance, Homeless Services, Emergency Shelter, Permanent Supportive Housing, and Community Outreach. Within the Department, the Equitable Housing & Community Development (EHCD) Division leads efforts to increase and preserve affordable housing through development and revitalization projects. The Division administers federal and local funding, coordinates with municipalities and development partners, and supports capital investments in housing, homeownership, and neighborhood improvement. The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Associate's degree
Two years of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field and two years of experience in housing, community development, grant administration or related field
How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
Provide comprehensive administrative, organizational, and operational support to the Equitable Housing & Community Development Division and its Director
Route EHCD documents and track contracts as they more thought the internal and external review process
Maintain organized and compliant files by implementing proper record-management practices in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements
Assist with program monitoring activities, including gathering documentation, preparing materials, and supporting follow-up tasks
Provide research and information-gathering support upon request to aid program planning, reporting, and decision-making
Manage the Division's Purchase Card, including tracking expenditures, reconciling monthly statements, and ensuring compliance with internal purchasing policies
Provide Cross-functional support by providing ad-hoc administrative support to program operations as needed
Perform other duties as assigned in support of division operations and housing affordability initiatives
