Duties

• Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and menu specifications
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish presentation, ingredient selection, and portion sizes
• Execute food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, cooking, and plating with attention to detail and safety standards
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while ensuring quality and presentation are maintained
• Serve meals efficiently and courteously to residents, guests, or customers in a professional manner
• Manage kitchen inventory by monitoring supplies, rotating stock, and notifying management of shortages or expired items
• Follow all food industry regulations and best practices to ensure a safe and clean working environment
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal delivery
• Assist with cleaning duties including dishwashing, sanitizing workstations, and proper storage of ingredients

Experience

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Proven background in food preparation within restaurant or fine dining environments
• Experience with menu planning and meal assembly in a food service setting
• Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, cooking methods, and food presentation
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and handling procedures in the food industry
• Familiarity with catering services or large-scale meal preparation is a plus
• Hands-on experience in kitchen operations within healthcare facilities or hospitality settings preferred
• Excellent communication skills for serving guests or residents effectively
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
