Job Overview

Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and menu specifications
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish presentation, ingredient selection, and portion sizes
- Execute food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, cooking, and plating with attention to detail and safety standards
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while ensuring quality and presentation are maintained
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously to residents, guests, or customers in a professional manner
- Manage kitchen inventory by monitoring supplies, rotating stock, and notifying management of shortages or expired items
- Follow all food industry regulations and best practices to ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal delivery
- Assist with cleaning duties including dishwashing, sanitizing workstations, and proper storage of ingredients
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation within restaurant or fine dining environments
- Experience with menu planning and meal assembly in a food service setting
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, cooking methods, and food presentation
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and handling procedures in the food industry
- Familiarity with catering services or large-scale meal preparation is a plus
- Hands-on experience in kitchen operations within healthcare facilities or hospitality settings preferred
- Excellent communication skills for serving guests or residents effectively
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
