We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and motivate sales associates to meet or exceed sales targets through effective team management
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation and availability
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Manage payroll, cash handling, and POS transactions accurately
- Conduct employee orientation, training, and development programs to enhance team performance
- Participate in recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and selecting qualified personnel
- Monitor store performance metrics and prepare reports on sales, inventory, and staffing needs
- Implement marketing strategies to promote store products and special promotions
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with assistant manager experience preferred
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and recruiting techniques
- Multilingual or bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Expertise in inventory control, purchasing, merchandising, and stock management
- Skilled in POS systems, cashiering, cash handling, and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of budgeting, sales management, pricing strategies, and store management principles
- Ability to manage shift schedules efficiently while demonstrating time management skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative tasks
- Experience with marketing initiatives, wireless sales (if applicable), and store promotions
- Demonstrated leadership in training & development programs and team management strategies
