The primary job duties for the Production Supervisor 2nd shift position, includes but not limited to:

  • Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of production members engaged in the manufacturing of products
  • Plans and assigns work
  • Implements policies and procedures
  • Recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
  • Ensures compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Ensures effective member relations on a daily basis, provides member coaching and development, makes employment decisions and resolves member concerns through problem resolution
  • Ensures that company policies, procedures, rules are followed
  • Responsible for processes, equipment, members, safety and housekeeping in the production area and meeting production and quality standards on a daily basis
  • Balances quality, safety, productivity, cost and moral to achieve positive results
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department
  • Supports continuous improvement activities within team through active participation and direction
  • Manages team performance measures and provides regular reports to manager
  • Performs thorough accident investigations
  • Maintains the member timekeeping system
  • Ensure that members receive appropriate and adequate training and development
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment and assists members in resolving work problems.
  • Counsels, records and applies appropriate discipline as necessary
  • Develops team leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of the receiving members
  • Other duties as assigned

Criteria

  • Demonstrates ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have the ability to interact and understand people
  • Good knowledge of the Toyota Production System
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes and materials

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required
  • 2-3 years plant floor experience desired
