The primary job duties for the Production Supervisor 2nd shift position, includes but not limited to:
- Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of production members engaged in the manufacturing of products
- Plans and assigns work
- Implements policies and procedures
- Recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
- Ensures compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Ensures effective member relations on a daily basis, provides member coaching and development, makes employment decisions and resolves member concerns through problem resolution
- Ensures that company policies, procedures, rules are followed
- Responsible for processes, equipment, members, safety and housekeeping in the production area and meeting production and quality standards on a daily basis
- Balances quality, safety, productivity, cost and moral to achieve positive results
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department
- Supports continuous improvement activities within team through active participation and direction
- Manages team performance measures and provides regular reports to manager
- Performs thorough accident investigations
- Maintains the member timekeeping system
- Ensure that members receive appropriate and adequate training and development
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment and assists members in resolving work problems.
- Counsels, records and applies appropriate discipline as necessary
- Develops team leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of the receiving members
- Other duties as assigned
Criteria
- Demonstrates ability to lead people and get results through others
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have the ability to interact and understand people
- Good knowledge of the Toyota Production System
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes and materials
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required
- 2-3 years plant floor experience desired
