We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef/Prep/Kitchen professional to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with menu planning and development of new sushi offerings to enhance customer experience.
- Handle food preparation tasks including cutting, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar and kitchen area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to health regulations and safety protocols.
- Support other kitchen staff with meal preparation, cooking, and plating as needed.
- Manage inventory levels for sushi ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or issues.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues and providing excellent service to customers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in culinary arts, specifically in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of food handling safety practices.
- Experience with menu planning, food presentation, and catering is a plus.
- Background in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Culinary experience in the food industry, including kitchen experience or dietary aide roles, is desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills, reliability, and a passion for culinary excellence are essential for success in this role.
