Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef/Prep/Kitchen professional to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sushi preparation, food handling, and kitchen operations, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic sushi dishes while supporting the overall kitchen functions in a dynamic restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist with menu planning and development of new sushi offerings to enhance customer experience.
  • Handle food preparation tasks including cutting, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar and kitchen area in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to health regulations and safety protocols.
  • Support other kitchen staff with meal preparation, cooking, and plating as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels for sushi ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or issues.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues and providing excellent service to customers.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in culinary arts, specifically in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of food handling safety practices.
  • Experience with menu planning, food presentation, and catering is a plus.
  • Background in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Culinary experience in the food industry, including kitchen experience or dietary aide roles, is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills, reliability, and a passion for culinary excellence are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $ $26.00 per hour
