We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef in Toronto to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and daily kitchen operations.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, including proper food handling techniques.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes that meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Help manage kitchen schedules and staff assignments to optimize workflow during busy service periods.
  • Address any issues that arise in the kitchen promptly and effectively.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant or food service setting.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food handling, and safety regulations.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate team members effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with other kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Previous experience in bartending is a plus but not required.

    Job Type: Full-time


    Pay: $65,000.00-$72,500.00 per year
