Primary Purpose:To supervise the day-to-day activities of the construction project, oversee the work of subcontractors employed on the project, and to supervise the labor force employed for the project, consisting of regular company personnel, and project specific/temporary personnel.
Major Duties and Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Drive the speed and direction of the construction project through coordination with subcontractors, vendors, project managers, quality control managers, and site safety and health officers.
Maintain a positive relationship with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
Bring the project in on time and within budget.
Ensure subcontracts adhere to all contractual obligations and perform their scope of work in accordance with project requirements
Coordinate proactively with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely procurement of materials and adequate labor resources, supporting the efficient progression of construction activities.
Review the job schedule and cost breakdown in an effort to develop a mutual approach to the project with the project team.
Uphold safety and health policies in accordance with the Accident Prevention Plan, EM and OSHA regulations.
Conduct/Document all safety orientations and weekly tool-box talks and prepare the end of the month safety check-list for requisition issuance.
Set up the job office and equipment trailers and see that all permits, labor notices, safety rules and regulations are posted. This includes the setup of all temporary required services (Sanitary, Power, Internet, Fencing, etc.).
Read, Understand and maintain a thorough knowledge of the contract documents, plans, drawings and specifications, addendums, options taken, etc.
Ensure that daily housekeeping practices are observed.
Keep up-to-date as-built drawings.
Sustain daily contact with the Project Manager and Quality Control Manager, seeking his/her assistance in the scheduling of approval, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
Create and maintain a three week look-ahead schedule for short-term activities within CPM schedule time frames and manage the document.
Inventory tools and equipment.
Secure project at all times and at end of each workday.
Complete detailed daily reports and post them to the company intranet.
Ensure subcontractors are completing daily reports and post them to the company intranet
Post pictures of job site twice weekly.
Coordinate the LEED implementation for the necessary field requirements with the Quality Control Manager, the Project LEED Manager and the subcontractors.
Conduct daily site walks and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Minimum Requirements:

Experience:
5-10 years minimum experience
Experience on federally funded projects preferred
Education:
College degree in related field preferred
OSHA 30 Training/ EM HR Training
CPR/Frist Aid
USACE CQM Certificate preferred
Working Conditions: The Project Superintendent role involves a combination of office and on-site field work, often within a fast-paced construction environment. Work is primarily conducted from an on-site job trailer, with frequent outdoor activity in varying weather conditions. Physical demands include regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. The role may also involve exposure to construction-related hazards such as noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
