Capel, Incorporated is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator with strong customer service skills to join our team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client support.

Primary Role: Logistics Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule outgoing shipments from our different warehouse locations for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Work closely with freight carrier representatives and be responsible for negotiating the best contract rates. This includes keeping up to date on any freight rate changes.
  • Work with our sales force and customer service to process customer orders and track and monitor product shipments using the most cost-effective method of transportation and working across multiple vendors and customer platforms to ensure prompt pick-ups and deliveries. This includes preparing and verifying shipping documents such as bill of lading and international documents.
  • Review all incoming freight invoices for accuracy, communicate with freight vendors for any invoice discrepancies, investigate lost shipments or late deliveries, and process any freight damage and/or loss claims.

Secondary Role: Customer Service Support

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat.
  • Enter and review customer orders, verifying pricing, shipping dates, and availability.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
  • Promote additional services and products to existing customers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Compile reports for management and assist with general office tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in logistics and customer service is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Dynamics, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong math and language skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
