As we continue to grow, we're seeking a results-driven Outside Sales Representative to expand our market presence and build long-term client relationships.
Position Overview
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing a portfolio of existing clients, and promoting our steel fabrication capabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of steel products, fabrication processes, and project-based sales cycles. The ideal candidate has both technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills, with a passion for solving customer challenges.
Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure new sales opportunities within assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, engineers, procurement teams, and project managers.
- Understand client needs and collaborate with internal engineers and estimators to deliver accurate quotes.
- Present fabrication capabilities, project timelines, and technical specifications to prospective customers.
- Track project bids, follow up consistently, and negotiate pricing and terms.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and meet or exceed monthly/quarterly revenue targets.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and on-site client meetings.
- Provide feedback to leadership on market trends and customer demands.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in steel fabrication, metal manufacturing, industrial sales, or construction materials.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes: cutting, welding, machining, forming, coatings, etc.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and project specifications (a plus).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within territory.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing industry contacts within construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- Experience in powder coating sales.
