Huntsville, Alabama, is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and manage our warehouse inventory. This role is crucial for ensuring inventory accuracy, minimizing discrepancies, and optimizing stock levels. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and reconciling inventory data. A strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles is essential. You will also be involved in investigating and resolving inventory variances, and implementing corrective actions. Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring adherence to all Safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, is a key part of this role. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven ability to manage inventory effectively. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity within our logistics department.Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports on accuracy and trends.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory management best practices.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Safety regulations and PPE usage.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to improve inventory processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in inventory control or management.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to maintaining Safety standards and ensuring correct PPE usage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve occasional Lifting.
