Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed production plans aligned with program and delivery schedules
- Coordinate capacity planning and load balancing to optimize production flow and minimize bottlenecks
- Devise and augment spreadsheets to enhance planning's ability to proactively communicate information with a sense of urgency
- Responsible for scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production facility
- Ensure timely availability of materials, by working closely with procurement, stockroom, and production teams
- Monitor and resolve material shortages, lead time issues, and capacity constraints
- Create, release, and maintain work orders with accurate routings, BOMS, and due dates
- Track work order progress and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure timely and accurate closure of work orders, verifying that all labor and material requirements are complete
- Participate in program meetings and provide planning input to support new product introductions, engineering changes, or rework plans
- Support and promote Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
- Proactively identify schedule risks and develop recovery plans to mitigate delays and support on-time delivery
- Escalate critical issues and work collaboratively to develop contingency plans
