Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed production plans aligned with program and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate capacity planning and load balancing to optimize production flow and minimize bottlenecks
  • Devise and augment spreadsheets to enhance planning's ability to proactively communicate information with a sense of urgency
  • Responsible for scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production facility
  • Ensure timely availability of materials, by working closely with procurement, stockroom, and production teams
  • Monitor and resolve material shortages, lead time issues, and capacity constraints
  • Create, release, and maintain work orders with accurate routings, BOMS, and due dates
  • Track work order progress and investigate discrepancies
  • Ensure timely and accurate closure of work orders, verifying that all labor and material requirements are complete
  • Participate in program meetings and provide planning input to support new product introductions, engineering changes, or rework plans
  • Support and promote Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
  • Proactively identify schedule risks and develop recovery plans to mitigate delays and support on-time delivery
  • Escalate critical issues and work collaboratively to develop contingency plans
