We are seeking a diligent and reliable Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Sacramento, California. This role is crucial for the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the receipt, documentation, and dispatch of incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Experience in warehouse operations and familiarity with shipping software are a plus. You will work closely with our inventory management system to ensure accuracy in all transactions. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Attention to safety protocols and proper handling of materials are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing shipments using warehouse management software.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and staging.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and warehouse safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
