We are seeking a motivated Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our growing warehouse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is vital for the seamless flow of goods into and out of our facility, forming a critical link in our logistics chain. You will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining inventory integrity. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damages and discrepancies.
- Verify packing slips against purchase orders and document any issues.
- Sort, label, and store received goods in their designated locations.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and staging orders.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Ensure the loading dock and warehouse areas are kept clean and organized.
- Comply with all company safety policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred. Must be capable of frequent lifting up to 60 pounds. A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety is essential, with an understanding of material handling best practices. Forklift certification is a significant advantage. You should be proficient in using RF scanners and basic computer systems for inventory management. Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary. This role demands accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding logistics environment. Experience in a high-volume distribution center is beneficial. Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime during peak seasons.
