We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our Kansas City, Missouri warehouse. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which directly impacts our logistics and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing measures to improve inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified through audits or system reports.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) to minimize obsolescence.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and suggest improvements.
- Work closely with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Manage the returns process, ensuring items are properly inspected and restocked or disposed of.
- Ensure a safe and organized storage environment for all inventory.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role is required. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and WMS is essential. Experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is highly beneficial. Must be proficient in data analysis and have excellent attention to detail. Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary. You should be comfortable using RF scanners and basic computer software. A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE guidelines is mandatory. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus. Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
