As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will report to a Principal Design Engineer and will interface with a range of stakeholders throughout all Business Units of Galliford Try at the pre-construction and construction stages of projects to assist in providing above and below ground Temporary Works solutions. You will: Initially, attend meetings and site visits with Design Engineer/Senior Design Engineer to discuss GTE Temporary Works services for specific tenders and projects Assist in the production of Temporary Works design briefs. Prepare design calculations for above and below ground Temporary Works schemes. Carry out checking of design calculations by other members of the GTE TW team or external design organisations. Assist with the production of drawings, schedules etc. based on the results of design calculations. Assist with the governance processes to ensure that designs and design checks are completed on time and within fee estimates. Assist in ensuring compliance with the Galliford Try Construction Business Management System so that the necessary standards of Safety, Quality & Environmental Management are achieved. What are we looking for? We invite applications from graduates who are passionate about the industry and have achieved, or are on track to achieve a Bachelors or Masters degree in civil/structural engineering (or similar) prior to September 2026. A full UK driving licence (or currently learning, you will be expected to have obtained a Full UK Driving Licence by 7th September 2026) and the eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction is essential for this role.
