We are seeking a diligent and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in San Diego, California. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, processing, and distributing materials to support our operations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. You will be working with a variety of materials, ensuring they are correctly identified, sorted, and stored. Collaboration with other warehouse staff and supervisors is essential for smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare packing slips to items received.
- Inspect products for damages and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, or to production areas as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred. Ability to perform heavy Lifting, up to 50 pounds regularly. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount. Understanding of logistics operations is beneficial. Successful candidates will be required to wear provided PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
