We are seeking a diligent and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in San Diego, California. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, processing, and distributing materials to support our operations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. You will be working with a variety of materials, ensuring they are correctly identified, sorted, and stored. Collaboration with other warehouse staff and supervisors is essential for smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the logistics industry and contribute to a leading distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare packing slips to items received.
- Inspect products for damages and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, or to production areas as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred. Ability to perform heavy Lifting, up to 50 pounds regularly. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount. Understanding of logistics operations is beneficial. Successful candidates will be required to wear provided PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
