Are you a skilled operator with experience on reach trucks? Join our growing warehouse team in Grand Rapids, Michigan! As a Reach Truck Operator, you will play a critical role in optimizing warehouse space and ensuring the efficient movement of goods. Your precision and attention to detail while operating specialized equipment will be key to maintaining our high standards for inventory management and logistics operations. This position demands a focus on safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse.
- Navigate narrow aisles and high racking systems with precision.
- Assist in receiving and putting away inventory accurately.
- Pick orders from high or low locations as directed.
- Load and unload trailers as needed, utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on the reach truck and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Support overall warehouse logistics by ensuring efficient product flow.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck is essential.
- Certification to operate reach trucks is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and maneuvering of items up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work at heights and in narrow spaces.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to using PPE and following all safety guidelines.
- Familiarity with logistics processes is a plus.
