Join our growing logistics team in Portland, Oregon, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for a highly organized and efficient individual to manage the final stages of our order fulfillment process. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing, documenting, and coordinating outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying order contents, selecting appropriate packaging materials, accurately labeling packages, and generating shipping documentation. You will work with various carriers to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery. A strong commitment to accuracy and adherence to Safety procedures is essential. We provide all necessary PPE and comprehensive training to ensure a secure working environment. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our supply chain and develop skills in a dynamic Logistics setting.
Responsibilities:
- Verify order accuracy, including item counts and product codes, before packaging.
- Select appropriate boxes, envelopes, and packing materials for shipment.
- Securely pack items to prevent damage during transit.
- Accurately weigh and measure packages.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation for all carriers.
- Schedule and coordinate package pickups with various shipping partners.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping dock equipment safely, such as pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all company Safety protocols, including proper Lifting techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common carrier platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and labeling.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems are beneficial.
- Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 pounds).
- Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to wear required PPE , such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of warehouse Logistics and a commitment to workplace Safety .
