We are hiring an Inventory Clerk for our facility in Portland, Oregon. This vital role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory records, which is critical for smooth **logistics** operations. The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining the overall organization of our warehouse stock. You will utilize our inventory management system to record stock movements, update quantities, and generate reports. A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach are essential for success in this position. While direct **lifting** may be less frequent than in other warehouse roles, the ability to move and organize items is still important. Upholding **safety** standards and properly using **PPE** are paramount. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain and gain valuable experience in inventory management within the **logistics** sector.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and records within the inventory management system.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming stock, ensuring it is properly entered into the system.
- Organize warehouse stock, ensuring items are stored correctly and accessible.
- Investigate and report on inventory variances, assisting in root cause analysis.
- Prepare inventory reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with all **safety** regulations and the correct use of **PPE**.
- Assist with **logistics** coordination as needed.
- Light **lifting** and maneuvering of inventory items may be required.
- Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) as applicable.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse **logistics** and inventory best practices.
- Ability to follow **safety** procedures and wear required **PPE**.
- Basic **lifting** capabilities.
