Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments, generating necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, shipping labels).
- Verify the accuracy of orders being shipped against product and customer information.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS, freight carriers) for pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems efficiently.
- Ensure packages are properly packed, secured, and labeled according to carrier and company standards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Conduct regular inventory of shipping supplies and report needs for reordering.
- Assist with receiving duties as required to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software, carrier portals, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urban environment.
- A commitment to efficient and safe logistics practices.
Physical Demands:
