Join our team in Kansas City, Missouri, as an Inventory Control Specialist and become a cornerstone of our logistics and supply chain management. This critical role focuses on maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and executing inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring that our inventory management systems are up-to-date and reliable. A strong understanding of inventory principles, attention to detail, and experience with warehouse operations are essential. We prioritize a safe working environment, requiring adherence to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role may involve occasional Lifting of inventory items. Your precision and diligence are vital to our operational efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Manage and reconcile inventory levels across multiple systems and locations.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
- Investigate and report on damaged, lost, or expired inventory.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to streamline inventory processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements and adjustments.
- Train and guide other team members on inventory best practices.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a logistics environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety protocols.
