In each case, the requirement is driven by growth. Increased customer demand, broader service portfolios and the need for greater consistency across new business and account development have created the need for senior commercial leadership. These organisations are investing in sales leadership to bring structure, accountability and predictability to revenue and GP.
We are already working closely with several of these businesses and supporting them on confidential senior hires. These roles are not publicly advertised and conversations are happening quietly.
Role Overview You will take ownership of the sales function and be accountable for new business performance, account growth and overall commercial execution. The role involves setting direction, building teams where required and ensuring the business has a clear and repeatable approach to winning and expanding customers.
You will work closely with founders, MDs and investors to align sales strategy with wider business objectives. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you are expected to understand the detail, challenge performance and deliver measurable results.
Portfolio and Remit
Ownership of new business and account growth strategy
Leadership of sales teams across new business and account management
Development of go‑to‑market plans aligned to service offerings
Responsibility for pipeline quality, forecasting and delivery against targets
Recruitment, development and performance management of sales talent
Senior stakeholder engagement internally and externally
Contribution to wider business planning and growth initiatives
Hybrid working with regional or national responsibility depending on the organisation
Sales and Delivery Alignment You will work closely with service delivery, pre‑sales and technical leadership to ensure sales commitments are aligned with delivery capability. These businesses operate across managed services, cloud, cyber security and project delivery, and require a Sales Director who understands how to balance ambition with execution.
Package
Base salary: £90,000 to £100,000
OTE: x2 base
Additional benefits vary by organisation and may include car allowance, equity or long‑term incentives
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute sales strategy across new business and existing customers
Build predictable pipeline and deliver consistent GP growth
Lead, coach and hold sales teams accountable for performance
Improve sales process, qualification and forecasting discipline
Partner with senior leadership to support acquisition and integration activity
Represent the business at senior customer and partner level
What Success Looks Like
Clear ownership and structure across the sales function
Improved consistency in pipeline, forecasting and conversion
Strong performance against new business and GP targets
Sales team operating with defined roles, expectations and accountability
Trusted advisor to the board on commercial performance and growth
Experience and Skills
Proven experience as a Sales Director or senior sales leader within an MSP, VAR or IT services business
Track record of scaling revenue and GP
Strong understanding of managed services, cloud and cyber sales models
Experience leading and developing sales teams
Commercially disciplined with a data‑led approach to decision making
Comfortable operating at board and investor level
