We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for operating a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse environment. Your primary focus will be on efficient and safe handling of materials, ensuring accuracy in inventory placement and retrieval. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will be expected to adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe reach truck operation and a keen eye for detail. We value teamwork and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Operate reach truck equipment safely and efficiently to move palletized goods.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Perform pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper scanning and system updates.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Adhere to all company and OSHA safety regulations, particularly concerning lifting techniques and material handling.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and supervisors to achieve team goals.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification or demonstrated experience operating a reach truck.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs, on a regular basis.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime.
