Senior Business Analyst
The Senior Business Analyst leads enterprise-level analysis efforts by facilitating discovery sessions, defining complex requirements, and aligning stakeholders around clear, actionable solutions. This role drives the development and refinement of policies, procedures, and governance documents while performing in-depth research to support decision-making and compliance needs. The Senior BA manages cross-functional communication, ensures rigorous follow-up and follow-through on open items, and serves as the primary translator between business strategy and technical execution. They guide solution design, oversee UAT, mentor junior analysts, and ensure that processes, systems, and documentation meet enterprise standards and deliver measurable business value. Essential Functions: Lead enterprise-level requirements gathering, discovery workshops, and process mapping. Own the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, governance documents, and compliance-aligned artifacts. Conduct deep-dive research on regulatory requirements, industry practices, vendor capabilities, and system impacts. Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings. Manage issue logs, follow-ups, and action items for cross-functional teams, ensuring resolution and accountability. Serve as a strategic liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating communication and solution alignment. Perform impact assessments, risk identification, and recommendations for process or system improvements. Support UAT strategy, test planning, and defect triage. Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in documentation, requirements, and research methods. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Experience with enterprise data environments, reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL concepts, or data governance. Experience supporting compliance-driven organizations (NIST, ISO, DFARS, CMMC) or government contracting environments. Familiarity with workflow automation, integration platforms, and Agile toolsets (GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira). Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Visio or other workflow-mapping tools. Strong analytical and research capabilities; able to break down complex issues and provide clear recommendations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide, clarify, and negotiate requirements with executives and SMEs. Demonstrated ability to manage follow-up and follow-through across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. Strong customer service focus and stakeholder relationship management skills. Solid understanding of project management methodologies, SDLC, Agile, or change management practices. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience. 58+ years of experience leading business analysis efforts for enterprise systems or multi-department initiatives. Must possess and maintain a current Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain clearance. Experience supporting policy development, documentation updates, and alignment to standards or procedures. Experience with large-scale system implementations, data platforms, ERP/HRIS systems, or workflow automation. Valid state driver's license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Calista's Driving Policy. Ability to pass a drug, background, and screening Working Environment: Calista Corporation IT team has a fast-paced, multi-tasking customer service-oriented office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime will be necessary at times.
