Join our team as a Distribution Center Associate in Virginia Beach, Virginia! This role is essential to the smooth operation of our large-scale distribution facility. You will engage in a variety of tasks including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping goods. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. You will play a key role in managing inventory and ensuring that products reach our customers efficiently and accurately. Understanding of logistics and supply chain best practices is highly valued. Your commitment to safety, including the proper use of PPE, is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Stock merchandise accurately in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and prepare orders for shipment with speed and precision.
- Pack items securely for transit, ensuring product protection.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently.
- Operate material handling equipment safely (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks - training provided/certification required).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs and standing for long periods.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and logistics principles.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
