Integrated Employment Services (IES) Program
The IES program provides tailored support for individuals facing barriers to employment, helping them achieve meaningful, long-term outcomes. By addressing each client's unique challenges, IES creates pathways to sustainable employment that transform lives and strengthen communities.
Reporting to the Manager, Employment Services, the Supervisor oversees, develops, and coordinates employment and training programs for youth and adults. The role includes staff supervision, program compliance, administrative and financial oversight, and supporting a diverse client population. The Supervisor also contributes to HR management, budgeting, developing and maintaining partnerships, and quality service delivery. This position requires someone who makes informed decisions, identifies opportunities for improvement, and approaches challenges with creativity and strategic thinking. The Supervisor coaches and supports staff, navigates a unionized environment with confidence, and maintains strong team structure and accountability through clarity, organization, and proactive leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment, orientation, training, and onboarding development of program staff, students, and volunteers
- Provide day-to-day supervision, scheduling oversight, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage program budgets, purchasing and related processes, and financial reporting.
- Compile and submit reports to funders and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor program quality, health and safety compliance, and risk management practices.
- Design and enhance program content, outreach strategies, and marketing strategies with stakeholders.
- Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with employers, agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Liaise with funders, support audits, contribute to proposal development, evaluation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure staff and client safety through communication and application of security procedures
- Participate in agency committees and contribute to strategic development.
WHO YOU ARE
Education/Training
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Marketing, or Human Resources (degree preferred).
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Knowledge/Experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a unionized environment
- Minimum 5 years program delivery experience in employment services or community programming.
- Expertise in performance management, budgeting, reporting, and proposal development
- Strong knowledge of the Social Inclusion Act, anti-oppressive frameworks, and relevant legislation.
- Experience identifying operational gaps and implementing creative, solutions-oriented improvements

Mental Effort
Regularly addresses complex staffing, client, and operational issues. Requires sound judgment, problem solving, and resilience to manage crises, performance concerns, and competing priorities, while maintaining clarity, professionalism, and consistent oversight in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Effort
Combination of desk-based and active work. Includes sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and movement of program materials as needed for service delivery. Lifting requirements are minimal and typically limited to light items (less than 25 lbs). May include cleaning or physical maintenance.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to high-stress environments, loud settings, and client behavioral risks. Requires handling interruptions, conflicting deadlines, confidently supporting staff in a unionized setting, and occasional travel between sites.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Manager, Employment Services, and receives broad direction and operates with autonomy in day to day responsibilities, seeking guidance on strategic, complex, or sensitive matters as needed.
Supervision Given
Supervises Assistant Supervisor, Employment Programs, and approximately 15 staff (full-time and part-time). Provides ongoing coaching, performance management, and clear direction to support strong team accountability. Conducts performance reviews, manages grievances, and leads recruitment, training, and staff development. Supervises students and volunteers as needed. Oversees students and volunteers as required, ensuring they are effectively integrated into program operations.
