We’re seeking a *Veterinary Medical Director* to lead our medical team, shape our clinical vision, and advance our mission of providing accessible, ethical, and exceptional veterinary care.
Our mid-size, non-profit practice is a unique blend of shelter medicine and private practice medicine, treating dogs in our adoption kennel as well as privately owned dogs and cats from the surrounding community. We boast a large, well-trained vet tech team to support our doctors throughout the day.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Clinical Leadership*
* Provide direct veterinary care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and preventive medicine.
* Establish and maintain medical protocols and quality assurance standards.
* Ensure compliance with all state and federal veterinary regulations.
* Promote a culture of continuous learning and compassionate care.
*Team Management & Mentorship*
* Supervise, mentor, and support veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff.
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and continuing education for medical personnel.
* Lead case reviews and medical rounds.
*Strategic & Operational Leadership*
* Collaborate with the Director, Board, and Practice Manager on strategic planning, budgeting, and program development.
* Contribute to grant proposals, community partnerships, and outreach initiatives.
* Support data-driven decision-making and outcome measurement for clinic programs.
*Community & Mission Engagement*
* Represent the organization in the community, promoting accessible veterinary care for all.
* Advocate for animal welfare and public health initiatives aligned with our mission.

*COMPENSATION: $150.00/Hour*
*SCHEDULE*
32 or 40 hour work week available/ 4 or 5 day week
Monday through Friday only
No weekend hours
