We are seeking a Sales Manager to join our Field Sales team. Sales Managers are responsible for developing world‑class relationships with major home center retail partners such as The Home Depot and Lowe’s, increasing in‑store presence of Scotts Miracle‑Gro brands, and supervising the work of Merchandisers. Responsibilities Utilize strategic selling tactics by analyzing and preparing key metrics to educate home‑center retail partners on business opportunities. Effectively advise customers through metric updates and business reviews. Manage and direct the work of Merchandisers, including planning, scheduling, delegating assignments, and providing ongoing feedback. Develop recruiting plans and conduct interviews to build out the Merchandiser team. Coaching and developing career paths for each associate on the team. Provide job training and communicate product knowledge across the portfolio of Scotts brands. Develop retail sales and marketing plans and creative marketing tools and events. Assist retailers in proper merchandising of Scotts product lines, including the use of point‑of‑purchase materials. Manage budget by effectively controlling expenditures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management. Experience using sales forecasting tools. Ability to guide and mentor Merchandisers. Problem‑solving and service‑oriented attitude. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends. Current, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Physical ability to walk, stand, climb an 8–12 foot ladder, lift up to 45 lbs, and work in various weather conditions. Compensation & Benefits The starting budgeted pay range for this role is $59,700.00 – $70,200.00 per year, with additional incentive eligibility under corporate bonus programs. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, a wellness reimbursement program, a 401(k) match up to 7.5%, and a 15% discount on company stock, among other employee‑focused programs.
