Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Job Location: Atlanta, GA 5 days per week in-office
Job Type: Contract position
Contract duration: 6+ months Position Summary The Project Manager will lead projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution and closure. This role partners closely with business leaders, operational teams, IT stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to organizational priorities. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational leadership, communication skills, and experience managing projects in structured business environments. Insurance industry experience is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Lead cross-functional projects through all phases of the project lifecycle Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables Define project scope, objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and success metrics Monitor project progress and proactively adjust plans to address risks, dependencies, or changing priorities Coordinate communication across business units, IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders Facilitate project meetings, steering committee updates, and decision-making sessions Manage project risks, issues, action items, and change control processes Prepare and deliver status reporting, documentation, and executive updates Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance processes, and organizational methodologies Coordinate resource allocation and support budget tracking and forecasting activities Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field Proven experience managing cross-functional projects in a business environment Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar platforms Preferred Qualifications PMP certification Insurance industry experience Experience supporting business operations, process improvement, systems implementation, or organizational change initiatives
