Our optical department is seeking an experienced and licensed Dispensing Optician to join our efficient and friendly team. We offer a welcoming environment where both patient service and technical accuracy matter.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Sell in‑house frames and manage orders for corrective lenses to be processed/ shipped out.
* Help patients of all ages select frames and lenses that meet their vision needs, lifestyle, and budget.
* Take precise measurements (e.g., pupillary distance, segment height) and ensure proper fit and adjustment of glasses.
* Interpret prescriptions and liaise with the lab for lens fabrication and finish.
* Handle vision plan/insurance processing and benefit verification.
* Provide fast, friendly service and meticulous attention to detail in dispensing eyewear.
* Assist with inventory of frames and lenses, maintain displays, and follow through on orders and pickups.
*Qualifications & Requirements:*
* Valid Dispensing Optician license in good standing (state‑specific).
* Demonstrated knowledge of different types of glasses, lenses (coatings, materials, filters), and optical products.
* Experience working with vision insurance/benefit plans.
* Strong interpersonal skills, customer‑service orientation, and ability to work efficiently (up to 40 hours/week).
* Comfortable working with patients of all ages and ensuring a positive experience from selection to delivery.
