*Overview*
The Chief Innovation & Information Officer (CIIO) is a visionary leader who bridges innovation strategy with information systems to advance the mission of the Alliance for Aging. This role is responsible for driving digital transformation, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the organization’s technology infrastructure supports scalable, secure, and mission-aligned operations. The CIIO will lead cross-functional efforts to modernize systems, enhance data-driven decision-making, and explore new models for impact and sustainability.
*Primary Accountabilities*
*Innovation Strategy & Mission Alignment*
* Develop and lead innovation throughout the organization that aligns with the mission, contractual requirements, and efficiency.
* Identify emerging trends, technologies, and partnerships that can enhance program delivery, fundraising, and community engagement.
* Cultivate a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement across departments.
* Pilot and scale innovative initiatives that improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
*Leadership & Collaboration*
* Based upon in-depth knowledge of the responsibilities and functions of the Alliance, serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board, and Executive Management on technology and innovation matters.
* Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between program, development, finance, and operations.
*Information Technology Leadership*
* Oversee all aspects of IT strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital platforms.
* Ensure systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for nonprofit operations including CRM, donor management, finance, and program tracking.
* Lead the modernization of legacy systems and adoption of cloud, automation, and AI tools where appropriate.
* Manage IT staff to ensure vendor relationships, technology budgets, and IT governance policies are strong.
*Digital Transformation & Data Strategy*
* Integrate innovation and IT strategies to drive digital transformation across the organization.
* Champion data literacy and implement tools for real-time reporting, impact measurement, and strategic decision-making.
* Ensure ethical and secure data practices, especially regarding clients and staff information.
*Education, Skill Requirements and Essential Functions*
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Public Administration, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
* 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT, innovation, or digital transformation—ideally within nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
* Proven success in leading enterprise-wide change initiatives and technology modernization.
* Understanding of nonprofit operations and performance impact measurement.
* Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Commitment to ethics and innovation.
*Working Conditions*
* The incumbent performs administrative work in a normal office environment with comfortable air temperatures and adequate lighting and ventilation.
* The incumbent may be required to carry promotional materials up to 20 pounds in a rolling cart and lift it in and out of a vehicle.
* Incumbent must have reliable transportation to travel within Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.
* Some weekend event attendance may be required as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $101,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
